The Digital Strategist is a skilled communicator, both verbally and in writing, and is responsible for creating a clear and comprehensive strategy and channel plan to accomplish client’s goals that can guide the work of the entire 1o8 team and its partners. They will be tasked with analyzing user experience data, initiating digital projects, reporting on planned and current strategies, leading effective digital marketing strategies, and ensuring that projects are executed within budget. They will play a pivotal role in growing the agency’s business, customer base, and improving user experience. Ideal candidates for this position should be innovative, and web and multimedia savvy. Ultimately, the outstanding Digital Strategist should have a firm grasp of the various digital touch points, steer our organization's digital narrative, and drive highly effective digital campaigns.

The right candidate is comfortable with ambiguity and can leverage all resources to problem solve. They know when to ask questions, and when to develop new processes to push a project forward.  They will also be highly curious about consumer behavior, insights and trends, and can inspire creatives through compelling, yet concise, creative briefs.

Day-to-Day Requirements:  

  • Evaluate and implement improvements on digital strategy
  • Build Briefs (big and small!) that effectively relay needs to creative teams based on research and specific client needs
  • Research the latest digital tools and interactive trends
  • Create integrated and cost-effective digital strategies
  • Drive value for the organization by identifying new strategies and business opportunities for existing clients and new business pitches
  • Understand web analytics and analyze digital campaigns and customer / user data
  • Engage with clients, sales teams, and management
  • Map out how digital assets will be optimized for business results
  • Define and action digital events
  • Manage and navigate relationships, assignments and day-to-day challenges in an ever-changing environment
  • Be an expert user of organic social media and social ad platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest. 
  • Have working knowledge of goals and tactics for display, search and programmatic media
  • Stay current on the latest social technology, functionality and integrations to serve as a go-to resource for the client and internal team, alike
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills

Ideal Experience   

  • 5+ years agency experience required, with paid media experience strongly preferred
  • Prior client-facing strategy roles
  • CPG experience preferred
  • Demonstrated writing samples required - excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A comprehensive understanding of digital technology and terminology (has managed SEO audits, website builds, etc.)
  • Firm grasp of emerging digital tools and thorough understanding of digital touchpoints
  • Possess broad knowledge of best digital practices
  • Degree in advertising, marketing, communication science or equivalent preferred
